Version 3.0.0 is a complete ground-up rewrite of Cryptic Emergency Traffic.

The previous task-based yielding system has been removed and placed with a new modular system designed around natural GTA V traffic behaviour, more reliable vehicle detection, and significantly better compatibility with LSPDFR pursuits and traffic stops.

Added

16
Player Emergency State Added PlayerEmergencyState and EmergencyState to track the player's emergency vehicle, current speed, urgency and active traffic detection range.
Candidate Vehicle Scanner Added CandidateVehicleScanner to efficiently identify nearby vehicles that may be relevant to the emergency response before further processing is performed.
Traffic Relevance Evaluation Added TrafficRelevanceEvaluator and VehicleRelevance to provide a single authoritative system for determining whether a traffic vehicle should be affected.
Yield Planner Added YieldPlanner to determine how relevant traffic should react based on the current emergency response conditions.
Traffic Coordinator Added TrafficCoordinator to coordinate traffic scanning, relevance checks, yielding and vehicle state management.
Pursuit and Traffic Stop Protection Added PursuitAndStopGuard to prevent the plugin from interfering with vehicles involved in LSPDFR pursuits and traffic stops.
Emergency Vehicle Classification Added EmergencyVehicleClassifier with improved detection of emergency vehicles, including add-on emergency vehicles.
Managed Traffic Vehicles Added ManagedTrafficVehicle to provide dedicated state tracking for vehicles currently being controlled by the plugin.
Urgency-Based Detection Added an urgency-based system that dynamically adjusts traffic detection range and yielding strength based on the player's emergency vehicle speed.
Relative Speed Yielding Added relative-speed yielding, allowing traffic to reduce its speed proportionally to its current speed rather than being forced to a fixed speed.
Pursuit Suspect Protection Added dedicated protection for the active LSPDFR pursuit suspect vehicle to prevent it from being incorrectly treated as normal traffic.
Traffic Stop Protection Added dedicated protection for vehicles currently involved in an LSPDFR traffic stop.
Direction Strictness Added configurable direction strictness to control how closely a traffic vehicle must be travelling in the same direction before it can be considered relevant.
Opposite-Direction Safety Floor Added an internal safety threshold that prevents clearly opposite-direction traffic from ever being treated as relevant, regardless of configuration.
Fully Commented Configuration Added a fully commented CrypticEmergencyTraffic.ini containing the available configuration options and their purposes.
Runtime Configuration Protection The plugin now leaves the configuration file untouched at runtime and will never automatically generate or overwrite the user's .ini.

Changed

8
GTA Driving AI Yielding now uses CruiseWithVehicle, allowing GTA V's own driving AI to handle steering and lane positioning instead of the plugin forcing vehicles towards specific coordinates.
Same-Direction Filtering Same-direction filtering now takes place before other traffic logic, ensuring irrelevant vehicles are rejected as early as possible.
Opposite-Carriageway Traffic Opposite-direction and opposite-carriageway traffic is now ignored by design, preventing unnecessary reactions on motorways and dual carriageways.
Emergency Vehicle Detection Emergency vehicle detection has been improved to better recognise both standard and add-on emergency vehicles.
Traffic Tasking Traffic is no longer repeatedly retasked every update cycle. New tasks are only issued when a meaningful state change occurs and the appropriate cooldown has elapsed.
Traffic State Management Vehicle state management has been redesigned to make it easier to determine when a vehicle should remain controlled, change behaviour or be released.
Performance The new architecture reduces unnecessary allocations and processing through reused buffers, squared-distance calculations and more efficient traffic scanning.
Detection Efficiency Traffic detection has been redesigned to filter irrelevant vehicles earlier, reducing the amount of processing required for vehicles that cannot respond to the emergency vehicle.

Feature Cryptic Emergency Traffic Overhaul

A complete overhaul of Cryptic Emergency Traffic to further improve the way it works.

REQ-58102
Breaking Rewrite Version 3.0.0 is a complete replacement of the previous traffic system. Previous versions should be removed before installing this release.
New Configuration A new CrypticEmergencyTraffic.ini is included with this version. It is recommended that users replace their existing configuration with the new fully commented version.
Natural Traffic Behaviour The primary goal of the rewrite is to let GTA V's own driving AI handle as much of the vehicle movement as possible rather than forcing civilian traffic through scripted manoeuvres.
Pursuits and Traffic Stops Pursuits and traffic stops are now treated as protected situations. The yielding system is designed to leave these vehicles alone rather than attempting to make them respond to the player's emergency vehicle.
Relevant Traffic Only The new system is built around a simple principle: Traffic should react when it needs to, and everything else should be left alone.

Fixed

8
Aggressive Pull-Overs Fixed aggressive pull-over behaviour that could cause civilian vehicles to make sudden manoeuvres, collide with other vehicles or flip.
Motorway Traffic Chaos Fixed opposite-direction traffic reacting to emergency vehicles on motorways and dual carriageways, which could result in unnecessary braking and traffic pile-ups.
Pursuit Interference Fixed pursuit suspects being incorrectly identified as ordinary traffic and being instructed to yield to the player's emergency vehicle.
Traffic Stop Interference Fixed vehicles involved in LSPDFR traffic stops being unnecessarily affected by the yielding system.
Forced Speed Behaviour Fixed unnatural driving caused by forcing vehicles to specific low absolute speeds.
Stop-Start Behaviour Fixed jerky and inconsistent traffic movement caused by repeatedly changing vehicle tasks and target positions.
Unnecessary Retasking Fixed vehicles being repeatedly assigned the same yielding behaviour even when their current state had not changed.
Managed Vehicle Cleanup Fixed situations where traffic vehicles could remain managed after they were no longer relevant to the emergency response.

Removed

7
Aggressive Task-Based System Removed the previous task-forcing approach that relied heavily on repeatedly assigning temporary driving actions to civilian vehicles.
Coordinate-Based Pull-Over Targets Removed rigid coordinate-based pull-over targets that could fight against GTA V's own driving AI and cause vehicles to make unnatural manoeuvres.
Fixed-Speed Forcing Removed the previous use of forced low-speed behaviour that could cause sudden braking and unnatural traffic movement.
SET_VEHICLE_FORWARD_SPEED Removed SET_VEHICLE_FORWARD_SPEED from the yielding system to prevent the plugin from directly forcing civilian vehicles to a specific speed.
Runtime INI Generation Removed automatic .ini generation and runtime configuration writing. The plugin now uses the configuration file supplied with the installation.
Rigid State Machine Removed the previous rigid state-machine implementation in favour of the new modular vehicle state system.
Scattered Magic Values Removed scattered hard-coded values from the traffic logic and moved configurable behaviour into the central configuration system.
